Grossman's has been well received and I really enjoyed reading Rutherford's version. I started reading Edith Grossman's translation of Don Quixote this week. But of course things aren't as simple as this and you have Edith Grossman translating Cervantes (the little I've read of her translation of Don Quixote seems OK) and Lydia Davis translating Flaubert and Proust. There's also the option of checking out particular translators on Amazon. Though there have been many valuable English translations of Don Quixote, I would commend Edith Grossman's new version for the extraordinarily high quality of her prose.
